The upgrades are part of an $18 million State Government project to upgrade pedestrian level crossings on the Armadale, Midland and Fremantle lines.

Cannington MLA Bill Johnston said the works would create local jobs in addition to improving safety and accessibility.

“Some of these intersections haven’t been upgraded in a long time,” he said.

“If there’s an opportunity to improve the universal access across these crossings, that’s to be applauded.”

Construction is expected to be completed by late 2019.
