Cannington Bowling Club site’s future to be put to public

Councillors Christine Cunningham and Pauline Tarrant called on the City to begin community consultation on the future use of the site bounded by the council chamber and George, Fleming and Wharf streets.

The motion, which passed unanimously, called for a report on site proposals to be delivered at the August council meeting.

“Now the decision to end the current lease by the Cannington Bowling Club has been made, the City is bound to seek the community’s feedback on future land use,” the motion stated. “Council does not want the Cannington Bowling Club site left inactive and decaying even in the short-term.”
