The Cannington Exhibition Grounds attracted more than 164 pedigree and domestic cats over the weekend, to show off their grooming and temperaments.

WA Cat Club and Paws and Claws Cat Club hosted the event.

A panel of six judges attended the Two Day All Breeds Cat Championships and scored the cats in six individual rings.

The pedigree felines were judged according to the Australian standard, which specifies their eye colour, ear placement, grooming and temperament.

Domestic cats are judged by their temperament and quality of grooming.

The overall supreme winner was Sparkles, owned by Lucy Nikiforos.

WA Cat Club Secretary Milena Gould said the weekend was incredible and everyone who attended loved the event.

‘It’s such a wonderful experience to see so many cats in one place,’ she said.

‘The event attracted many visitors over the weekend who were curious to see all the various breeds of cats and speak to exhibitors about their breeds.

‘It was a wonderful turnout and hopefully next year it is even bigger.’
