Ahead of the centre’s anniversary in April, chairman Lindsay Holland is inviting past and present members to join the festivities.

Mr Holland said the community-based not-for-profit centre had become an institution in Willetton.

“I think the fact we have children whose grandparents went to the centre shows we are a great centre with a great philosophy,” he said.

Mr Holland praised the long-term staff at the centre, particularly cook Sheryl Bodger, who has worked there since the centre opened.

“Our staff are great, they work hard and are dedicated. It’s what makes the centre so special,” he said.

On April 30 at 11am, the gates of the centre will be opened to the wider community to join the celebrations.

“The centre is good, a great place for kids to grow and our staff put in so much effort.

“It will be a wonderful day,” Mr Holland said.
