Charges over scooter hit

A WA Police spokeswoman said about 6.45am, officers were carrying out speed detection duties on Albany Highway near Ladywell Street when a scooter carrying three people allegedly knocked one of them to the ground. Police will allege its rider drove away with the passengers.

The officer received hospital treatment for cuts and bruises.

A 17-year-old is due to appear in Perth Children’s Court on June 17 on charges including dangerous driving occasioning bodily harm and failing to stop after a traffic incident causing bodily harm.

A 15-year-old appeared in Perth Children’s Court last Tuesday, and again last Friday, charged with stealing a motor vehicle and possessing cannabis, and is due to appear again on June 7.
