CITY Farmers Cannington is celebrating its new look with a weekend of celebrations to showcase its in-house Pet Adoption Centre, vet clinic, grooming salon and DIY dog wash.

Local City Farmers store manager Tristan Fox said the pet supplies store would offer adoptions in partnership with the Cat Haven with the aim of saving the lives of hundreds of cats and kittens.

“We are committed to responsible pet ownership and animal welfare which is why we are so proud to launch our pet adoption service. We are looking forward to finding these pets their forever homes,” Mr Fox said.

Adoption fees will be returned to the Cat Haven and all cats are de-sexed, vaccinated and micro-chipped before entering the store.

Greencross Vets will offer the vet services at Cannington and more City Farmers stores are expected to roll out the one-stop shop model in the future.

City Farmers Cannington is inviting all residents to 1375 Albany Highway on Saturday and Sunday for a sausage sizzle, face painting and balloon art.
