City of Canning CEO’s new salary package to include Qantas Club membership and extra week of paid leave

CITY of Canning chief executive Arthur Kyron’s salary package will include Qantas Club membership, an extra week of paid leave with loading and no change to the base salary this year.

Attempts to defer the decision or remove the new conditions were voted down, and the motion was carried 9-2 with councillors Patrick Hall and Ben Kunze voting against the changes.

The City’s 2016 annual report showed the highest base salary pay bracket – typically assigned to the chief executive – to be between $300,000 and $309,000.

In Belmont, the annual report for 2015-16 showed the chief executive earned somewhere between $270,000 and $279,999 in base salary.

Gosnells chief executive Ian Cowie was on $310,000 to $319,000, according to its annual report.

The South Perth chief executive was earning between $230,000 and $240,000 for the 2015-16 financial year.
