GET active and have some fun doing so at May 19’s Festival of Movement.

The new one-day festival is all about health and fitness, with attendees invited to try their hand at rock climbing, biking, yoga, paddling and enjoy a number of workshops, food stalls and demonstrations.

City of Canning Mayor Paul Ng said there would be something for everyone to try.

“Participants of all ages and abilities will be encouraged to choose their own adventure,” he said.

“The City is committed to improving the health and wellbeing of Canning residents, as such this festival aims to encourage community members to try something new and get active.”

Sea Shepherd will also make an appearance, leading a river and foreshore cleanup and teaching attendees how to care for their local environment.

The event is a collaboration between the City of Canning, Act-Belong-Commit and the Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions.

The free Festival of Movement is at the Shelley Foreshore on May 19 from 10am to 2pm.
