City of Canning to implent Aboriginal reconciliation plan

Pia van StraalenCanning Gazette

THE City of Canning has implemented a strategy to achieve reconciliation with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

As part of the strategy, the City is developing a Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) and a Canning Reconciliation Action Group (CRAG) who will design and develop the RAP.

The plan, titled Reflect will be based on the framework of respect, relationships and opportunities and would like to introduce the community to the meaning and process behind this initiative.

An information session will be held on Friday for interested parties to learn more and to find out how to be a part of CRAG to help set the direction for the RAP.
