CANCER rates are increasing but medical budgets are not and will not, according to Curtin University Associate Professor Allison Reid, who called on cancer researchers to prioritise cancer prevention projects.

Associate Professor Alison Reid from Curtin’s School of Public Health is among the organisers of a consumer conversation meeting on cancer prevention research where researchers from Telethon Kids, Curtin and UWA will want to find out what research areas should be focused on in cancer prevention research.

The consumer meeting will be held on Monday evening at Cancer Council WA, from 7pm-9pm.
