Curtin University to host 5m-tall state-of-the-art OMEN Rig gaming centre

A 5m-tall gaming rig with state-of-the-art technology, known as the OMEN Rig, will make its Perth debut on Wednesday and Thursday in two locations.

WA gamers will be able to try the technology when its opens to the public tomorrow from noon until 6.30pm at Canalys By the Park at Crown Perth, and on Thursday at Curtin University’s South Edinburgh Oval from 4pm to 10pm.

The OMEN Rig features 25 elite gaming stations with the latest kit from HP.

To date, the road show has stopped at Sydney and Coffs Harbour in New South Wales; the Gold Coast and Bundall in Queensland; and Melbourne, Chadstone and Nunawading in Victoria before heading west.

Perth will also be a meeting place for big names in business who will gather for tomorrow’s West Tech Fest conference at the Pan Pacific to celebrate innovation, entrepreneurship and investment in the Asia Pacific.

The event includes a Startup Challenge and Curtin University staff are listed among the speakers, including a welcome by Vice Chancellor Professor Deborah Terry AO.
