The Green Machine Promotions founder’s address to the Gosnells-based centre’s expo at the City of Canning proved there were more parallels between fighting and business than the crowd members might first have thought.
He spoke about motivation in hard times, and his belief that in tough games, people who wanted to be the best had to train the hardest.
‘Learn to deal with pain for something you love,’ he said.
‘I only steer my energies into things I like and enjoy.
He said if the venture was something someone loved and believed in, and they had a vision for the future, they should get started.
‘Jump in the shower, grit your teeth and just go for it,’ he said.
Green answered questions from the assembled business owners on subjects as diverse as combining charitable work with business, developing Facebook pages, apps and websites, professional fighting and of course, Dancing with the Stars.
‘I’ve now got some junk in the trunk,’ Green said, cupping his buttocks to illustrate how even a four-time world champion athlete could face some physical challenges by diversifying their activities.
The expo was packed with more than 40 businesses plying their wares and networking before a panel of experts from Wildfire social marketing, NeedlenHay digital media house, Nifnex and Radical Consulting gathered to answer questions about online marketing.
