Debra Scidone to be among exhibitors at Alfred Cove Arts Society Awards of Excellence

Pia van StraalenCanning Gazette

ACCLAIMED Wilson artist Debra Scidone will be among the exhibitors at the Alfred Cove Arts Society Awards of Excellence later this month.

Scidone, who won the 2014 first prize for pastels in the awards, will again display mixed media pieces evoking China, where she recently returned from art exchange.

Since returning from art exchange, which included one week at the Tsinghua School of Arts University, Beijing and the Nantong University, Scidone has been influenced by the sights.

Her works titled Come a little Closer show the new technique she is using to create artworks with acrylic inks and watercolour; letting the paint decide the subject and her knowledge and experience over time determine the outcome.
