The goal defender played in her 250th Smarter than Smoking State Netball League match against Darling Rangers this month to break former West Coast Fever player Lisa Millman’s record.

Mitchell (33) celebrated the milestone in style, with the Demons winning 66-44 to maintain their standing at the top of the ladder.

The Parkwood resident said she started playing on the courts at Southern Districts Netball Association in Langford when she was in primary school and ‘would never go to another club’.

‘The love of the club and being around friends is what keeps me motivated to play,’ she said.

‘It is a unified club and we have enjoyed great success over the years.’

The Demons have made the grand final every year for the past decade and Mitchell rated last year’s success as her greatest memory.

South East Demons head coach Nicole Prothero described Mitchell as a ‘great role model’.

‘She is dedicated and always gives 100 per cent,’ she said.
