Discrimination claim dismissed

Pia van StraalenCanning Gazette

In November 2014, Scott Mewett lodged a claim with the Equal Opportunity Commission alleging he was discriminated against on the ground of impairment.

The former applied science student suffers from depression and a general anxiety disorder.

Mr Mewett claimed that because of his impairment, Curtin treated him less favourably in his initial application for credit for prior learning, and a subsequent decision to not give him credit for prior learning for a partially completed diploma from Tafe NSW.
