Duo charged after leading police on alleged chase on Kwinana Fwy near Leeming

POLICE have charged two men after an alleged highway chase on the Kwinana Freeway near Farrington Road Leeming on Sunday afternoon.

The vehicle was believed to be stolen from a Lakelands address overnight and used during a stealing incident in Atwell about an hour prior.

The black Ford Mustang was seen travelling around the Riverton area erratically.

A tyre deflation device was used successfully on a second attempt, stopping the vehicle on Tudor Avenue where the two men attempted to flee; the two men were seized shortly after.

Kensington Detectives charged the driver (44) with stealing a motor vehicle, reckless driving to escape police, burglary and commit, and two accounts of stealing and trespassing.

The passenger (18) was charged with stealing a motor vehicle, as well as stealing and trespassing.

Both men are due to appear in Perth Magistrate Court today.
