Environment vollies recognised

City of Canning Commissioner Linton Reynolds said the certificate recipients had to be residents or members of a community group or organisation for at least 20 years.

‘The current condition of the Canning River and the surrounding area has a lot to do with these volunteers who have given up their time to the protection of the environment,’ Mr Reynolds said.

A commemorative honour board using recycled stop boards from the weir was installed on the shore of the Canning River near the Kent Street Weir in recognition of the volunteer’s long service.
