Dr Flett, who is a geriatrics specialist and chief executive at Brightwater Care Group, advocates for people who require ongoing high-level care.
She previously served in the Royal Australian Air Force where she was the first female doctor to serve, later becoming the first woman to hold a male rank in peacetime and in 1998 was named Businesswoman of the Year.
Dr Flett spoke to a captivated audience about the importance of leadership and ways to establish meaningful change in business and organisation.
Canning chief executive Lyn Russell said it was a coup to have such a high-calibre speaker launch Open for Business.
“(Dr Flett) spoke about the importance of people in an organisation, and provided insights into how to unite a team so they become champions of an organisation’s vision,” she said.
The next Open for Business networking event will be held on April 6, featuring renowned futurist and demographic guru Bernard Salt.
