BUSINESSES and ratepayers will be able to access free graffiti removal kits from the City of Canning as part of a statewide fund to encourage the rapid removal of graffiti.
Last year, the State Government made the kits available through the State Graffiti fund, with the intention of providing sustainable local graffiti clean-up solutions for the community.
Long-term benefits of the program include increasing reporting awareness and support projects that reduce the risk of young offenders coming in to contact with the justice system.
According to the State Government, the annual cost of graffiti removal is $30 million.
Across the entire City of Canning between January and December 2016, 35 graffiti offences were reported to WA Police.
Cannington was the most vandalised suburb with 11 offences reported followed by Canning Vale with nine and Bentley with seven.
