Fundraising to continue for Willetton Basketball Stadium expansion

Jaime ShurmerCanning Gazette

FUNDRAISING will continue for the Willetton Basketball Stadium’s expansion project.

The extra money will be used for fit out, a sinking fund for maintenance and upgrades to existing lighting to reduce energy costs by about a third.

Expansion plans currently tally $10 million and it was recently announced that all funding had been secured with help from all levels of government.

Further to this, the Willetton Basketball Association will now seek to fundraise from the public an additional $250,000 by December 31.

The Association’s board has been working since 2003 toward the expansion project to create four more courts adjacent to the current courts.

The new round of fundraising will be conducted via the Australian Sports Foundation with all donations to Willetton Basketball tax deductible and tax receipts available.
