King Tomos XI will be playing for the McGrath Foundation in honour of a players mother, who has breast cancer.

Willetts Young Boys will be playing for Diabetes Australia for Mr Willetts, who has diabetes.

The winning team will donate 70 per cent of proceeds to their selected charity, while the runners up will donate 30 per cent.

Mr Atkinson said organising the event had taken a lot of work, but he had not ruled out organising a similar event next school holidays.

Weve done all the promoting, put flyers up everywhere, hired the grounds, weve ordered McGrath Foundation socks, organised the uniforms, the nets, the corner flags, the boundaries, he said.

We have to get people to come, we have to organise the donations and were thinking of doing a barbecue, he said.

The 17-year-old, who usually plays basketball, said his team would have a good crack at trying to win the match.
