Girl of many talents

The 15-year-old Riverton girl is a national league soccer player as well as champion runner and swimmer.

Rachel said her focus was on soccer and she was on the right track to play professionally.

‘I usually play as a midfielder but I can play any position comfortably,’ she said.

‘I’m a very social person and I like that aspect of team sports.’

Rachel played in the Christian Football Nationals Competition with her team making it to the finals against Queensland, but lost to penalties for the second year in a row.

Her Riverside soccer team were also the league premiership winner this year and Rachel was award most valuable player during the grand final.

This year Rachel was the champion Year 10 girl for both the school and inter-school swimmer competition despite not training for any of the events.

Rachel said she placed first in every stroke.

She also won the school cross-country event and was champion girl for the inter-house athletics competition.

Rachel attends Rehoboth Christian College in Kenwick.
