Pia van StraalenCanning Gazette

FOR the past five years, East Cannington’s Julie Gordin has volunteered at the RSPCA.

The animal lover has always had pets, from chooks to sheep and believes in keeping creatures great and small happy.

“I think they should be looked after and I’m happy to keep volunteering with the RSPCA.”

Along with her Labrador-cross Jet, Ms Gordin will pound the pavement for the charity to raise money for Happy Tails Day on October 2.

The initiative raises money for sick, injured and neglected animals and the money raised covers more than 90 per cent of the annual bill for the RSPCA’s rehabilitation and rescue of animals in danger.

People wishing to volunteer to shake a tin for the cause are being sought to join the campaign with their furry friends, community members are needed both in Perth’s CBD and metropolitan train stations to collect donations.
