SENIORS are invited to attend a forum with Jandakot MLA Yaz Mubarakai and Seniors and Ageing Minister Mick Murray on May 1.

The Minister’s Q&A event in Canning Vale will allow seniors to raise issues that matter to them.

The event also includes a seminar about cyber security.

Attendees will learn how to protect themselves from phone and computer scams, identify theft and social media pitfalls, learn about password protection, WiFi security and accessing money online.

Free GP health checks will also be conducted by Hammond Park 24-7 Family Practice, and a light morning tea will be provided.

The event will include an information session about the NBN.

“This forum will be a fantastic opportunity for community members to hear from and ask questions of Minister Murray about issues relevant to them, and to learn how to better protect themselves online, which is so important in today’s increasingly technological world,” Mr Mubarakai said.

The forum will be held at Fresh Ideas Function Centre, Market City, 280 Bannister Road in Canning Vale on May 1 from 10am to 12.30pm.
