Labor name Southern River College teacher Marion Boswell as Tangney candidate

Pia van StraalenCanning Gazette

SOUTHERN River College high school teacher Marion Boswell was endorsed as the Labor candidate for Tangney last night.

Ms Boswell’s addition to the ballot comes after dumped Liberal Dennis Jensen threw his hat in the ring as an independent.

Ms Boswell will contest the seat against Dr Jensen, Liberal Ben Morton and Green Thor Kerr.

Tangney is currently the second safest Liberal seat in Western Australia with a swing of 15 per cent.

Dr Jensen, who has held the seat for 12 years, said his independence would offer Liberal values without being tied to the party’s “faceless men and women.”

Dr Kerr has driven his campaign to give an option to constituents disenchanted by the Liberal Party and Mr Morton has pledged to stick to core Liberal values and committed to projects such as Roe 9.

More to come.
