The St Vincent de Paul Society‘s annual Street Appeal is being held on Friday September 9 and Vinnies is asking the WA community to give generously and support this annual fundraiser.

The Society responds to the welfare needs in the community by providing food, clothing, household items and financial assistance with things such as utility bills and rent.

People who donate to the Vinnies street appeal can be assured that all funds go to helping disadvantaged West Australians.

The Society said it continued to see increasing numbers of people looking for assistance with the majority of requests being for food, followed by help with utility bills.

Last month alone the St Vincent de Paul Society provided emergency relief to around 3000 individuals in the Perth metropolitan area, with more people also being assisted in regional areas.

If anyone would like to offer some time on the Friday to collect for Vinnies, we are keen for volunteers. If you would like to help collect on the day please contact 9475 5414 or email events@svdpwa.org.au

On September 9, volunteers will be collecting at:

– Waterford Shopping Centre, Coles

– Willetton Bunnings (High road)
