Police woke the man and during the search of the vehicle he grabbed an item from his jeans pocket.
The man refused to release the item and began to bite the packaging open before police pulled it out of his reach.
He was wrestled to the ground and handcuffed, and police secured four clip-seal bags containing a white substance. A further search of his car revealed several used smoking utensils.
Five smoking implements used to smoke amphetamines, a round of blank ammunition and 24.66g of methamphetamine were seized and the man was charged with one count of possessing a drug with intent to sell or supply, one count of possessing a smoking implement and one count of obstructing police. He appeared in Perth Watch House Court on July 12. He has been remanded in custody until August 8 when he will appear in Perth Magistrates Court.
