Renovations underway at McDonald’s Riverton.

MCDONALD’S Riverton is getting a $1.4 million makeover that will create 20 new local jobs and offer drive-thru barista-made coffee around the clock.

The renovation was announced in February and is expected to be finished by the end of April.

Decor will be updated and new features include a large PlayPlace, dual lane drive-thru, dining room refresh, and an updated McCafe with dedicated drive-up serving window.

About 20 new roles will be required because of the McCafe upgrades, the extra restaurant capacity, and the option of birthday parties.

McDonald’s Riverton licensee Janiene Pollock said they wanted customers to have the best experience possible.

“We believe that the new surroundings will provide our customers with a comfortable and welcoming space that the whole family can enjoy,” she said.

The restaurant is continuing to serve customers during the remodelling process.
