New Zealand woman hit with further charges over fatal Welshpool crash

A 35-year-old New Zealand woman has been hit with further charges after a fatal crash in Welshpool on February 14.

Police say that about 12.25am the woman was driving a Ford Falcon sedan north on Leach Highway.

They allege that near the intersection of Welshpool Road, the Ford crossed to the wrong side of the road and hit a motorcyclist travelling south.

The 24-year-old man riding the motorbike received critical injuries and died in Royal Perth Hospital.

The woman was charged with manslaughter the following day, but has now been hit with a further five charges.

These are failing to comply with a direction to stop by police, failing to stop and render assistance after an incident occasioning death, failing to report an incident occasioning death, having no authority to drive and displaying false registration plates.

She is due to appear before the Perth Magistrates Court on March 27.
