Pia van StraalenCanning Gazette

On October 24 the City hopes to lead by example and encourage the community to think again about how they dispose of used items.

The event is free for sellers and shoppers to participate in,

City acting-chief executive Steve Atwell said the event was a good way to turn your trash in to another’s treasure.

“By reducing the number of things you throw out, it reduces the amount of rubbish going to landfill,” he said.

“The group sale brings the community together at one location with more to buy and sell in one location. People can find and sell what they want in one place,” Mr Atwell said.

“It is a great way to make some extra money from the things you no longer need, by selling it to someone who wants it.”
