The application argued the site was most suitable in order to provide suitable telecommunication coverage for the area.

In July 2017, the council rejected a similar application at Hossack Park, one of three identified sites in the area that would meet coverage requirements.

Councillor Jesse Jacobs said the new location was an improvement on the previous proposed site and he had received no negative feedback from residents.

His thoughts were echoed by Cr Margaret Hall, who had not supported the previous application but was happy to back the new proposal.
