Perth man shot by police charged

A PERTH man shot by police has been charged with a number of offences including assault following a confrontation.

Police arrived at a Bentley home about 9.30am on Saturday and shot the 51-year-old man, who was taken to Royal Perth Hospital in a stable condition.

Homicide detectives have since charged him with breaching a restraining order, assault with intent to prevent the arrest of a person and two counts of endangering life.

The man was due to appear in court today via a bedside hearing from hospital, police confirmed today.

Major Crime Division officers are conducting an investigation into the circumstances of the shooting, overseen by the force’s Internal Affairs Unit.
