Plans for Community Bank in Canning Vale

CANNING Vale is set to have its own community bank and is calling on locals to support the initiative.

Gosnells Community Bank branch chairman, Ray Norvill said he was excited about bringing the Community Bank to Canning Vale as a way of encouraging locally-owned and operated banking that financially benefited the community.

“We are inviting people interested in finding out how their banking could inject funds into the local community to pledge their support,” Mr Norvill said.

He said a pledge target of $300,000 from 100 people had been set for the campaign and if successful, the Canning Vale branch would join a national network of more than 312 Community Bank branches that had collectively returned more than $165 million to support local communities.

Pledge forms are available from Cafe GG in The Vale Shopping Centre, or from the Gosnells Community Bank Branch.

For more information about becoming a steering committee member call Mr Norvill on 0423 970 542, or Gosnells Community Bank manager Michelle Lennox on 9490 4233.
