Police charge two teens over Cannington assault

POLICE have charged two teenagers after a 40-year-old man was allegedly assaulted at Cannington train station on Sunday night.

Police said the 15-year-old and 17-year-old got off the Armadale line train at Cannington about 7pm, along with another 40-year-old passenger.

The two boys allegedly approached the man while he sat on a bench and punched him to the head several times.

The boys allegedly continued to punch the man after he fell to the ground.

Public Transport Authority officers caught two boys nearby and they are scheduled to appear in Perth’s Children Court today.

The man was taken to Fiona Stanley Hospital for treatment for non-life-threatening injuries.
