WESTERN Australian Police have issued an arrest warrant for a New South Wales man they believe to be involved in a spate of armed robberies over 30 years ago.

Regional Investigation Unit detectives travelled to NSW to interview the 58-year-old in relation to numerous incidents in February and March 1983.

The man was allegedly involved in armed robberies at banks in Willetton, Spearwood, Applecross and the Perth CBD.

He also allegedly stole motor vehicles and assaulted a police officer during that time.
