Rossmoyne administrative manager Richard Hodgson hoped the trip would go ahead and that students would come back as "future-ready students and world citizens".

"We want our students to leave school being a part of a world community. We want students to understand there's a big wide world out there and a lot happening," he said.

Year 11 student Ben Byrnes-Cope is among the students planning to go on World Challenge. The Riverton resident said he looked forward to experiencing a new culture and environment.

"I wanted to go on World Challenge because it would be great to experience a completely different culture first-hand," Ben said.
