Real men wear pink

According to organiser Rod Anthony they will continue to prove their toughness by sporting the hot pink hair-dos for a whole month.

‘The guys are colouring their hair, beards or both,’ he said. ‘Some are doing streaks others are doing mohawks.

‘This started as a dare and ended up being a charity event to raise money for the Princess Margaret Hospital Foundation. We have been out collecting sponsorship from family and friends, and will continue to collect donations for the entire month.’

The intrepid team are from all over Perth; Rod Anthony (Byford), Shaun Goodwin (Bassendean), Scott Halford (Wellard), Marvin Roman (Westminster), Terry Harvey (Midland), Steve Wilson (Maylands), Dave Bromeley (Subiaco), Kevin Hart (Thornlie), Celestino Coelho (Leda) and Husein Alibrashi (Beechboro).

‘We are also having a car cruise on August 18 finishing at Taylor Reserve, Victoria Park, next to McCallum Park,’ he said.

‘On the day we have some raffles, sausage sizzle, bouncy castle and hair spraying, plus 100-odd cars on display. It is free entry to the venue and anyone who owns a steel bumper car is invited to join the cruise for a $20 donation.’
