Pia van StraalenCanning Gazette

THE Red Cross shop in Bentley Plaza on Albany Highway is looking for store volunteers to work during the week and on Saturdays.

Those with a passion for fashion, or looking for new friends, are encouraged to step forward to help with sales and sorting donations.

Red Cross spokeswoman Catherine Marshall said the store needed volunteers to help on the floor and behind the scenes.

“Volunteering in a Red Cross shop provides a great opportunity for anyone to get involved in their community,” she said.

“Our inclusive environment welcomes people looking for friendship, retired people wanting to participate in the community, people wanting to develop their English skills, and job seekers keen for work experience in the retail sector.”

Training is provided and no previous experience is required.

To volunteer at the Bentley shop, call into the store at 14/15, 1140 Albany Highway or register your interest online at www.redcross.org.au/shopvolunteer and search for job number 493960.

Proceeds from the Bentley Red Cross shop go to help fund Red Cross’ everyday work in Australia and further afield.
