Reynolds’ last deferrals

Mr Reynolds deferred a proposed 72-person child daycare centre at 1 Cameron Court and 43 Granville Way, despite admitting he would have approved it if he were staying on.

Strong resident opposition had met the item at the City’s agenda briefing the week before.

Mr Reynolds also deferred a tender for the construction of a community events stage and war memorial.

Mr Reynolds said he started as Canning Commissioner with a council meeting full of unfinished business and would leave his role with items for the commissioners to deal with.

‘I feel that they need to own those decisions, and any ramifications that follow,’ he said.
