A ROSSMOYNE aged care facility has been approved for a multi-million dollar redevelopment, set to capitalise on its location after a Joint Development Assessment Panel meeting.
Spearheaded by Rossmoyne Waters, the Webb Street aged facility formerly featuring high care facilities and low care homes will be developed into an 86-unit over 55s residential facility.
Named Australis, the development will echo the evolving needs of retiring baby boomers, who statistically prefer a more active form of retirement living.

“Some delay was caused due to the changing requirements to fire safety regulations following Western Australia’s more recent, devastating bushfires,” he said.
“However… we are excited and glad to see that the hard work put in has paid off. We are confident that many retirees will be able to benefit from this exciting development.”
The eight-storey building will feature a heated pool, spa, gym, sauna, lawn bowls green and cafe.
According to McCrindle Research, by 2020 there will be more 65 year olds than one year olds and there will be as many people aged 60-70 as there will be aged 10-20, making the population pyramid inverted putting a demand on retirement living.
Works are anticipated to commence early in 2017.
