Principal Chris Booth said it was an exciting time for the school, which had previously struggled with outdated facilities.

The school has more than 2200 students and Mr Booth said there would be a renewed focus on building foundations for students' higher education aspirations.

New facilities include a new two-storey classroom, a lecture theatre, an arts and media building, a refurbished arts centre, a new science building and an IT area.
