Stage one of Rossmoyne Waters’ redevelopment officially complete

Ben SmithCanning Gazette

AFTER four years of construction, the first stage of Rossmoyne Waters’ redevelopment is officially open.

The retirement village’s Australis Apartment project has been completed, with the first residents ready to move in.

The apartments, influenced by luxury hotels, form stage one of the village’s planned redevelopment, with stage two to include a new residential aged care facility to replace the long-standing Sherwin Lodge.

Adventist Care chief executive Gary Blagden said the project was the outcome of a great team effort.

“The project manager, NS Projects, the architect, Hames Sharley and builder, PACT Construction, all worked tirelessly with Adventist Care to deliver an apartment and amenity facility that sets a new standard for retirement living in Perth,” he said.

Riverton MLA Mike Nahan opened the facility and said it was a welcome addition to the local community.

“Australis and the upcoming stages of Rossmoyne Waters represent the sort of new development we need, with the increased densification allowing residents who are ageing to downsize and stay in their community,” he said.

“It’s a credit to Mr Blagden and Adventist Residential Care who had this vision and took the risk to make it a reality.”
