Teacher Rhys Brooks said it was great for the students to be recognised for their hard work and commitment.

‘The kids put in so much work for the different projects and they can be proud that they are making a difference,’ he said.

‘It is a way of encouraging kids to do things for others and not just themselves.’

Mr Brooks said the class students were put into six teams to find a charity that they would like to help as part of their overall project The Giving Tree.
