Students dig deep for typhoon victims

Staff ReporterCanning Gazette

Students brought a gold coin to school to purchase cut-out figures. These were attached to big ‘houses’ as a symbol of the shelters that were demolished.

The funds raised will go towards providing food and clean water to the victims of the typhoon.

Students, parents and staff gave generously and raised more than $1400. Some children donated their entire moneybox savings.

The school gave the money to Save the Children Fund Australia, an organisation well established in the Philippines.
