Students help brighten the day for those in Cambodia

Carmelle WilkinsonCanning Gazette

STUDENTS at Willetton Primary School are mastering the art of helping others.

Year 5 students will host an art expo next month to raise funds for their sister school in Cambodia.

Teacher Bindi Jones is travelling to Cambodia in January to deliver much-needed school supplies and materials to underprivileged children in one of Asia’s poorest regions.

“Our school is highly invested in supporting global awareness and building philanthropic ideals in our students for a better future for all,’’ she said.

The exhibition will showcase works from all students from kindy to Year 6. They will be available for purchase for between $10 and $30 and there will also be a silent auction with 20 framed artworks.

The expo is open to the public, 5-7pm on Monday, October 21, in the school’s undercover area.
