Uber to Collect Donations for Red Cross

Rachel FennerCanning Gazette

FOR people who constantly forget to drop unwanted donations to Red Cross – Uber drivers will collect them from locations around Perth at the weekend – free of charge.

On Sunday, January 31, Uber will join forces with the Australian Red Cross and collect unwanted gifts, pre-loved clothing and accessories at the touch of a button.

New and existing Uber users can request an Uber driver-partner collect their donations between 11am to 4pm.

They will collect from the Perth CBD, up as far north to Joondalup and as far south as Cockburn.

People are asked to bag the clothing and gifts ready for donation.

On the Uber app, between 11am and 4pm, there will be an option to pick clothing on the app and request a driver.

They ask that only quality clothing and gifts are donated.

Uber expects that there will be high demand, so cars may not be available straight away and not all requests will be fulfilled.
