PERTH-RAISED glamour Jessica Gomes will be a star attraction when shoppers get their first look at the Westfield Carousel expansion Thursday morning.
About 70 new shops are set to open in the new fashion mall, many in the new fashion wing anchored by a two-storey David Jones department store.
Gomes, who is the face of David Jones, will be among dignitaries helping with a ceremonial ribbon-cutting just before 9am.
“I am so excited to be returning to my hometown,” she said.
“Growing up in Perth I always loved the vibrant colours and relaxed fashion and know the locals will love some of my favourite brands which will be available such as Viktoria & Woods and C&M Camilla and Marc.”
Having appeared for several years in famed American publication Sports Illustrated, Gomes has recently released her own brand of beauty products called Equal Beauty and is expected to spend some time Thursday speaking in store about her beauty line.
Carousel’s fashion mall also will house WA’s first JD Sports and Vans stores, with renowned retailers G-Star Raw, Mecca, Seed, Sheike and Playtpus among other new additions.
David Jones’ top floor also offers access to the centre’s ‘crown jewel’ – a rooftop entertainment and dining hub – which includes Perth’s first TGI Friday, popular Italian chain Criniti’s and an Asian-inspired laneway of oriental food.
The rooftop precinct connects to Hoyts Cinema and has an amphitheatre and stage, which could pave the way for bands and singers to perform on summer nights.
