FLOAT tank businesses are on the rise, but one Willetton outlet believes it has the most unique tanks in Perth.

Altered States Float in Willetton is only place in Australia to offer float tanks which utilise neuro-feedback technology.

Part owner Dan Williams said its NeurOptimal technology, the same used by Navy SEALs, helped clients relax in the best way possible.

“Floating helps both the mind and body holistically, but NeurOptimal targets the central nervous system directly,” he said.

“It’s basically your brain seeing itself in the mirror so it knows where to correct itself.”

“You are in an environment that reduces all distractions of the outside world, it is a place for your mind and body to be freed from all external stimuli without sensory input.”

Mr Williams said the tanks were the perfect environment to combat stress and anxiety and also muscle tension to aid pain recovery.

“Regular floating in a non-sensory input environment will weaken your hormonal stress response (cortisol & adrenal spikes),” he said.

“The zero gravity-like environment takes all the pressure off your body while absorbing high levels of magnesium to the muscles and joints.”

Altered States Float offer 90 minute sessions, which Mr Williams said were naturally more in line with typical general sleep patterns and customers can listen to music or audio books while they float.
