Willetton SHS students and parents show appreciation on World Teachers Day

Pia van StraalenCanning Gazette

PARENTS and stakeholders on the Willetton Senior High School board hosted a staff appreciation day on World Teachers Day.

The multiculturalism of the school was on display, with a tantalising array of international foods from speculaas, to curry puffs, sushi, lamingtons and club sandwiches.

Led by the Interact Club, a youth subsidiary of Rotary, the day celebrated staff and included speeches, cards and tokens of appreciation to show thanks.

School board executive officer Helen Wong said it was a great result for the school of 2300 students and 250 staff.

“World Teachers’ Day was an excellent opportunity to say a big thank you to all the staff, many of whom go above and beyond in teaching and caring for the students,” she said.
