A WOMAN has been charged over the theft of a car from a Lynwood home, alleged to have occurred while the home’s owner lay dead inside.

The charge came after an investigation into burglaries from the house over the last few months.

Police attended the home on High Road on Monday, where they located the body of a man.

They believe he was deceased for some time and that the cause of his death is not suspicious.

Cannington Detectives were investigating reports that before police found the man, people had entered the home and stolen items and cash belonging to the him.

Today officers recovered a Land Rover Discovery that was allegedly stolen from the house at a property in Gosnells.

A 31-year-old Gosnells woman has been charged with stealing a motor vehicle and will appear in the Armadale Magistrates Court on Friday November 29.

The investigation is ongoing and detectives are urging anyone with information relating to this incident to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or report online at www.crimestopperswa.com.au.
